The episode, presented by Joe Swift, won a Garden Media Guild award recently. It shows clearly how to construct a hot bed to enable you to harvest your veg two months earlier than normal. Elisabeth Tova Bailey's lyrical memoir is a joint winner of Stanford University's 2012 Saroyan Prize in the non-fiction category.
